After using my Mac for almost a year, I’ve gotten spoiled. Not only with software, etc., but with colors. Right now I’m on a school computer, with is a Dell desktop with a flat screen monitor, it’s actually a pretty decent computer for a school. So anyway, I’m browsing my favorite sites and I realize that the colors on this thing are actually really horrible compared to my Mac. I’ve gotten used to beautiful colors, and being able to see small differences, no matter how subtle.
I love my Mac.

The past few weeks has been taken up with work and preparing for college. We’re moving in August, probably around the first. I’ve been looking at apartments and collecting furniture from relatives and friends. I think we’re actually going to have plenty of stuff. I really want a washer and dryer because Don and I have to do laundry twice a week because of his job. I’ve been looking on craiglist for some, maybe I’ll find a cheap one.
I also want to get an XBox 360. Not a priority at all, but still something fun for me and Don. My reasoning behind it is if we have internet, TV and a video game system, then we won’t need to go out and bother ourselves with spending more money to keep entertained. As it is, we go out a lot. We went bowling, to a movie and to dinner a bunch this week. Too much. So anyway, I’ve been looking for a good used core system or even a modded system for semi-cheap on craigslist and ebay. I don’t want to buy a new one, but if I do, I’ll just get the core system and mod it myself. I’d want to add a huge hard drive to store games and movies on.
Which brings me to my ultimate entertainment system that I’ve been planning. I want to *eventually* have a full entertainment system run off a Mac. A huge hard drive, I’m talking terabytes huge, that I burn all our movies to and TV shows of course. With a fabulous TiVo or DVR system hooked up to a monster high definition plasma TV or something. Man, that would be awesome…A girl can dream.

I’m experimenting with the pen tool in Illustrator. I’ve never used that one before because it’s quite confusing for someone new to the program. I finally got the hang of it with the help of a tutorial from Veerle. There’s a video of her using it and I’ve been practicing for the past two days. I’m getting much better. Right now I’m working on the mushrooms from Fantasia. So far there’s three of them and I like the second one the best. I still have some finishing touches for the third. I wish I had more creativity right now to draw on my own, but unfortunately, I don’t.

A really good resource is The Blog World. Amanda has lots of tutorials, tricks, etc. for bloggers that are really helpful. I have it bookmarked and check it regularly to see what things she posted. It definitely warrants a visit.
I’m working on mine and Don’s budget. I’m trying to keep track of all our purchases in 2006. What goes to the car, what goes to food, etc. It’s slow-going. I’ve finally found a program I like that’s free. It’s got a reports feature that will give me graphs and that’s really what I’ve been looking for. Now I’ve just got to type everything in.
I’m also loving the Firefox extension Stumble Upon. It’s great. I’ve found a lot of good websites through it.

So I heard awhile back that my all-time favorite TV show is making a comeback and today while looking for checks, I came across this article.
“Well, I was frustrated when it got cancelled, but Fox, 20th Television is the one who came back and said, “Would you like to do a DVD movie?” and we said, “Let’s do two” and they said, “Well, why not three?” and we said, “Well, why not four?” and they said, “Okay, four” and then that’s it.”
So FOUR movies! How exciting. I can’t wait.
Don and I are going to work all summer to save as much money as we can for college, but there’s a small problem with the car issue. There’s only one. We can probably save up about $1000 by the time the summer rolls around to buy a car, but finding one is the problem. I was also thinking of getting a motorcycle and Don can ride it (not me ’cause I’m a scaredy cat). So I’ve been looking and I really don’t know anything about them. I’ll have to ask Don when he gets home from work.
I finally got my W2 from Eddie Bauer so I finished my tax return. I’ll get a whole $61 back. That’s exciting. Especially compared to Don’s $560. He made way more money than I did though. He made about $5000 and I only made $1200. My jobs were only part-time and his was 12 hours a day for two months. So it works out okay.
I’m thinking about a new layout for tehsheriff.org. I do really love this one, but I’d like to see something a little more…grown up. That’s a good way to put it. I also want to make a better layout for my quilt so that’s on my list of things to do.
What checks should I get? Baseball ones or Marvel comic ones? I can’t decide. I also can’t decide if I want to get Disney ones, Toy Story or something. I think it’d be pretty cool, but they’re expensive. I wanted to keep it unisex so Don could use them, but he doesn’t ever write checks anyway so does it matter?
Oh and I got an $8000 scholarship for college. That’s always nice.
