I’ve been a member of The Quilting Bee for a few months, but this is my second time joining. I used to participate a long time ago on another site. The community is great. It’s such a fun club where people who love cute things and pixels can get together. We trade patches on our quilts. There are also activities, about one a month. There’s an ongoing event at the moment where we decorate ornaments for a Christmas tree. There’s also an advent even going on where we can get a different patch each day.
The QBee is the original pixel-trading club and has been around for ages, but has recently been revamped by Jem and Bubs. The site got a facelift and some great new features. We have member profiles and an integrated bbs, which are both really neat features. The web has lost a lot of the cuteness it had a few years ago, but The Quilting Bee is still a great community for anyone who loves pixels.

I’m in the process of uploading and tweaking a new layout. There are parts missing and pages with errors. I’ll let you know when it’s all finished.
Edit: all done.

So I almost decided to delete this blog. Why? Because I haven’t updated it but once since the opening of That College Kid. I didn’t like that other layout, which partly made me not want to visit or update. But tehsheriff.org got another reprieve because I still need a personal blog from time to time and even if it doesn’t get any visitors, that’s fine with me. My boyfriend reads it at least.
Even though I’ve been blogging for five years (seriously!) and have had this one for over two years, I’ve learned so much about blogging in the past two months I’ve been working on That College Kid. I’ve learned more about Wordpress and more about SEO than I ever knew when I just had this personal blog. After two years, Tehsheriff.org has a Technorati authority of 50 and a pagerank of 4, which isn’t bad at all since it was built purely on my blogging. I did a few link exchanges and I still have a few affiliates, but for the most part, all I’ve done is blog and write a few content articles here and there.
I have such a monstrous to-do list, as usual. I’m adding this site to it, not sure where the priority goes, but this site will be fixed up at some point. Expect a new layout (or maybe just an old one with a twist) and hopefully some more content.

So we moved into the new apartment. It’s 700 square feet, with one bedroom. It’s actually quite spacious. The rent is a little high, but it pays to be in a good complex. Copper even has a little patio off our bedroom that has some grass for him. The grass is high because it hasn’t been mowed since we moved in last week and he loves it. The kitchen is pretty small and so is the bathroom, but it doesn’t even matter to me because it’s ours.
My dad is coming back down this weekend to bring us some armchairs, a few lamps and a wireless router. I don’t like being stuck in this one area with my laptop.
As for this site, I’m going to try to add some more content and post more now that we’re all settled. Maybe an updated layout.

I made a new layout yesterday. I’m still in the process of fixing some things up. I don’t have a clue how it’s going to look in IE yet. I’ll see when I get to work.
I also added post categories to newer posts. I’m going to add some more plugins and make this a better blog. I’m hoping to turn it into something a little more than just where I post random things every once in awhile. Eventually.
P.S. I know the buttons at the top don’t work yet. There’s still content links in the sidebar. There’s also lots of little things that need to be fixed so if things aren’t right, don’t worry.
